Silke Scheuermann was born in 1973 and lives in Frankfurt. Admired as one of the best German writers of her generation, her poems and short stories have won her various grants and awards. She has served on the Jury for the Frank O’Connor International Short Story Award and was visiting lecturer at the Deutsches Literaturinstitut in Leipzig and at the University of Mainz. She has published three poetry collections, a collection of short stories, Reiche Mädchen (Rich Girls) in 2005 and two novels.
